Lena Dunham is just the latest celebrity to speak out about Kim Kardashian’s harrowing Paris robbery. The Girls actress, 30, addressed the incident during Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” on Wednesday, October 5. Watch what she said in the clip above.
“So awful,” Dunham said. “I literally am thinking about her every day like she’s my friend even though I don’t know her. I’m like, ‘Is she feeling OK? Is she talking to somebody? I’m worried.’”
Earlier this week, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, was confronted by five assailants posing as policeman while staying at the Hôtel de Pourtalès. Around 2:25 a.m., she was tied up, gagged and carried into the bathroom as they ransacked the residence and stole more than $10 million worth of jewelry.
After the incident, Kardashian’s rep told Us Weekly that she was “badly shaken but physically unharmed.” Hours later, the Selfish author flew to NYC to be with Kanye West and their two children, North, 3, and Saint, 10 months.
“She is still being interviewed by Paris police and is waiting to see what happens,” a source told Us on Wednesday. “She loves Paris and will definitely go back, but she is taking a break from everything and it will be a while before she is ready.”
Since the news broke, several stars have spoken out in support of Kardashian and bashed critics who joked about the situation.
“What I really hate about this Kim thing is that people are feeling so much license to make jokes,” Dunham said on Wednesday. “That’s a human being and she may have put her life on display in a specific way and you may not agree with everything that she does, but that is a woman, and a mother and a daughter who’s just been put through something so heinous. My heart is with Kim.”
Other stars who have stuck up for Kardashian include James Corden and her pal Chrissy Teigen. “People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she’s a mother,a daughter,a wife,a friend. Be nice or shut up,” Corden, 38, tweeted on Monday.
Teigen, 30, added, “Fame is interesting. Celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you’d make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets.”
