Nothing brings stars like Lena Dunham, Lil Jon, and Fred Armisen together like the right to vote.
The famous faces teamed up for a new Rock the Vote video, starring in a fresh “#TURNOUTFORWHAT” clip. The video made its debut on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and features an impressive lineup of celebs.
“#TURNOUTFORWHAT” opens with a shot of rapper Lil Jon, 43, on his cell phone, making plans with Whoopi Goldberg. He tells the legendary actress that he can swing by to see her after he votes in the Nov. 4 midterm elections.
The “Turn Down For What” performer then finds himself in a school that has been set up for public voting, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Dunham, Armisen, Glee star Darren Criss, Orange Is the New Black actress Natasha Lyonne, and model Ireland Baldwin, among others.
Popping into a voting booth, Lil Jon comes face-to-face with Girls creator Dunham and celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson. “Occupied!” Dunham exclaims. “We’re in here voting… This is how we do it in Hollywood, we vote with our trainers!”
After getting an autograph from the Emmy nominee, Jon puts a spin on his chart-topping single, altering the lyrics to rap, “Rock the vote / Turn out for what.”
He goes on to explain that he is turning out for the legalization of marijuana, while Criss says he is turning out for education, Dunham pinpoints reproductive rights, Lyonne names prison reform, and actress Sophia Bush says she is turning out for women’s rights.
