Lena Dunham's Girls character, Hannah, hasn't had the easiest time with men. But Dunham herself is happily in love with boyfriend Jack Antonoff, lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning band fun. As part of artist Miranda July's project "We Think Alone," which features personal emails from the outboxes of Dunham, Kirsten Dunst, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and others, the Girls creator, 27, shared a sweet love letter she wrote to her 29-year-old beau almost exactly one year ago.
The letter -- which begins with the greeting "Dearest Baby" -- was written during the actress' October 2012 trip to India. In it, she describes "walking through a beautiful Indian garden," the Lodi garden in New Delhi, which she says "looks like if someone crushed Versailles with a giant Doc Marten."
At some point in the excursion, she writes, she "passed a big green pond with a dozen disorderly swans" floating along the water. "All the old people in my party were cooing about the swans, but I was focused on this young couple, late teens or early twenties, curled up on a bench talking really animatedly," she recalls.
"We spent 40 minutes walking around the garden, and when we circled back they were still there, chatting like fiends," she continues. "And I thought of you, like always, and I felt I could spend four days on a bench with you and it wouldn't be enough time to hear all the stories you have to tell."
"I literally want to know everything you have ever seen and what you felt like while you were seeing it," she writes. "And I will be so much better my whole life for knowing those things. I love you."
