Levi Johnston's Mom Crying, "Very Upset" by Surprise Engagement

Sarah and Todd Palin weren't the only family members left in the dark about their daughter Bristol's engagement to Levi Johnston.
The news -- which Us Weekly broke on Wednesday -- also came as a shock to Levi's mother Sherry and younger sister Mercede.
In a blog post entitled "Who needs coffee when you wake up to news this shocking?" Mercede, 18, describes how she and her mother woke up to Wednesday's big headline.

Holding up her laptop, Sherry showed her daughter "a beautiful picture of Levi, Bristol, and Tripp on the cover of US Weekly...Not exactly the image I wanted to come face to face with when I first opened my eyes," Mercede snipes.
Sherry's response? "My mom was very upset, with tears running down her face," Mercede describes, adding that other relatives were texting and reaching out via Facebook about the startling new revelation. "They were very upset that they had to find out about this engagement from the media and not from Levi himself...even his own mother and sister had to find out that way."

But, Mercede writes, "with all the odd things going on lately I definitely expected something...I think there may be more to this picture than we are able to see right now."
Offering her and Sherry's congratulations to the couple, she cautions, "I do wish you guys would take a little more time with this decision, and I certainly do not understand why you are rushing things."
Of the reunited pair's 18-month-old son, she adds, "I am also very happy to see Tripp in Levi’s arms again, and I do know that it will be good for him to have both of his parents back in his life full time from now on. And you know he really does deserve the best that you can provide."

She also extends an offer to the bride-to-be: "Bristol, if you ever feel overwhelmed with all the decisions involved with planning a wedding I would love to offer you my help. I am a very good event planner, decorator, and I have great taste."
But Levi's sister isn't completely sure she'll be on the guest list. "I can't wait to watch the two of you wed, I wouldn't miss it for the world...We are going to be attending the wedding, right?"

Mercede talks out both sides of her mouth. She said that she was shocked and humiliated, and then she says she wants to help plan the wedding? Levi's family is so bizarre.

I thought meth heads lose sense of reality. Oh yeah ,she was not taking meth,but selling meth and another drug. That is a picture there of his sister and she seems ok.
levi wants IN to hollywood. he wasnt getting anywhere even WITH kathyGriffin but Briston was getting the calls, so he's hoping this is his way in, plain and simple. that being said i hope he becomes a better human and mature into makeing this a real and happy family for the right reasons.

How embarrassing is this going to be to Sarah Palin. Once AGAIN, her unwed TEEN daughter, couldn't control herself and ABSTAIN from the hunky boyfriend??? Here, Bristol Palin has been running around the country GETTING PAID to PREACH to teens to "just keep your legs closed." Looks like ONCE again, Bristol is the town fool. She's also a fool for taking back Levi who does NOTHING but slam her family. He doesn't love Bristol. He want to get out of paying child support.

You people crack me up. You spend your time/breath commenting on people you don't even like. It's so funny. I think it's a sad statement on our society that it has come to this with politicians. Who cares what their family does-would you want your family under a microscope? Guess you are perfect. I'm just tired of "goofy" people getting reality shows/fame for doing nothing. You know they will get a show-sad really. I feel sorry for the kids actually. They will never have a "normal" life, and they don't deserve that.
What a train wreck of a story! I have no doubt that Bristol is pregnant again...otherwise, why else would they want to get married so quickly!? So sad to see these young teenage couples in such a rush to get married. With all the media attention thrown at them, it's no wonder that everyone is stepping over themselves to get their story in all the gossip magazines! Crazy.

They are young but adults now. If it's another mistake they will learn from it just like we all do. I too think they should be left alone.

They are rushing because she is pregnant and if she has another child out of wedlock than everyone will know that she was not being abstinent like she claimed she was and considering she was getting PAID to talk about being abstinent she would really look like a complete and total hypocrite.. Wait... she IS a hypocrite just like her mother!
These two kids and their child look terrific on that picture; nobody will benefit from having both of them together more than the child himself; perhaps, if Bristol and Levi would have been left alone from the start, they would have been long happily married. I wish the three of them many years of loving patience, and prosperity. They deserve it, no matter what their crazy in-laws think. Congratulations on your engagement.
