The 27-year-old rapper (real name: Dwayne Carter) had eight root canals on Tuesday, according to TMZ.com.

During the eight-hour procedure, Lil Wanye -- who has said his jewel-encrusted teeth cost about $150,000 -- underwent several tooth implants and "had the few real teeth he had left repaired," the site reports.

Last week, the rapper's sentencing in a weapons case was postponed so he could have the dental surgery. (Last year, he admitted he illegally had a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus in July 2007.)
He is now due to be sentenced March 2. His plea deal calls for a one-year term in a city jail, though he could wind up serving eight months if he behaves well.
