Hello, Angels! On the eve of Tuesday’s 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, model Lily Aldridge, 29, stopped by HuffPost Live on Dec. 8 to talk about this year’s show and what audiences can expect. The beautiful brunette also dished on her special relationship with one of the show’s headline performers, Taylor Swift!
“The fashion show is unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of, it’s just such a huge production, the performers are incredible,” dished Aldridge, who has been a Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2010.
Aldridge, who walked her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2009, said being on stage with “the sexiest girls in the world” is an “adrenaline” rush.
“It’s really fun to open up a section, you kind of start the energy and feel of a section,” she revealed.
The mom of one said she thinks walking the Victoria’s Secret show is every model’s dream.
“There’s no other show like it, it’s so much fun, and it’s all about the girl,” she said. “They want your personality, they want you to shine, unlike some fashion shows where they just want you to showcase the clothes.”
The show, which filmed on Dec. 2, was held across the pond in London for the first time. The models were all flown together on a special Victoria’s Secret private plane, which Aldridge said included a “little sleepover.”
“We are a band of sisters and we’re always having fun,” she said, laughing.
This year’s show features performances by Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Hozier, as well as 1989 songstress Swift, whom Aldridge calls “one of [her] best friends.”
“Taylor is amazing, she’s such a good friend, she’s a great woman and I’m so proud of her insane success this year,” the supermodel gushed. “Her record is just on fire this year!”
Aldridge met the “Blank Space” singer at a Kings of Leon concert, the rock band that Aldridge’s husband Caleb Followill fronts.
“We found out we were neighbors, and then we became friends, and I texted her last year and asked her if she wanted to do the show and she texted back in like one second ‘YES!’” revealed Aldridge. “So she came back again this year for the second year in a row.”
