Livin’ la vida Lohan! Lindsay Lohan opened up about turning 30 in mere days and reflected on her tumultuous past in a new interview with Vanity Fair, published on Thursday, June 30.
According to the former child star — who will celebrate the big 3-0 on Saturday, July 2 — she isn’t regretful about her widely publicized personal setbacks and legal troubles over the years.
“I wouldn’t call things regrets, per se. I can’t turn back time,” Lohan told Vanity Fair. “But if I could, I would have listened more to my mother and gone back home to NYC earlier in life and chosen my friends more wisely.”
In 2013, the Disney alum moved from Los Angeles back to the East Coast (her family is originally from Long Island, New York) to film her OWN docuseries, Lindsay. The show documented her efforts to make a career comeback after years of public court battles and rehab stints for an addiction to alcohol.
Asked what advice she would give her younger self, the “Rumors” singer told VF that she would be choosier when it comes to picking out her friends. In 2007, Lohan’s social circle included fellow reformed party girls Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
“Pay attention to the people you surround yourself with,” she said, “and make sure they have honest intentions.”
Now Lohan, who claims she’s sober, is looking forward to the future as she enters a new decade of life. The Canyons actress proudly revealed her plans for “making more films, writing my book, starting my charity” and “working with children a lot.”
LiLo, who got engaged to Egor Tarabasov back in April, is also dreaming about starting a family with her 23-year-old Russian business heir beau.
“[I’m also excited about] maybe having some of my own [kids] soon,” she told the magazine. “After I get some movies done, first.”
