Lindsey Vonn says it's "been difficult and interesting" to see how the public has reacted to her relationship with golfer Tiger Woods

Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods are used to being in the spotlight, but the controversial couple didn't expect to be put under the microscope when they took their relationship public in March. The Vail, Colo.-based skier, 28, opened up about her golfer boyfriend, 37, when she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City on June 3.

"It's weird. I'm used to it in the ski world, but not in my personal life," Vonn told E! News of the attention their courtship has received. "So, it's been difficult and interesting."

The Olympian continued, "I mean, it's weird when people are taking pictures of you when you don't know it. It's a little bit — a lot — intrusive. But we're dealing with it and we're happy, and that's all that matters." Woods didn't make an appearance at Monday's star-studded event. Instead, Vonn attended as a guest of fashion designer Cynthia Rowley.

Once-wed Vonn is currently training for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, after sustaining an injury earlier this year. Her forced break from skiing — and her time with Woods — has brought positive change to her life, a confidant said in Us Weekly's Apr. 8 issue.
