Drama even before Bravo! Lisa Rinna revealed during Live! with Kelly and Michael on Wednesday, Feb. 25, that her husband Harry Hamlin initially threatened to throw their marriage out the window if she joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“This is a true story. I went to Harry and said I’m thinking about [doing RHOBH] and he looked at me and said, ‘If you do this show, I will divorce you,'” Rinna, 51, told co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.
“And I said, ‘Okay,’ and I walked away and I was done with it.”
Rinna, of course, joined the Bravo series anyway in July 2014, but only after Hamlin, 63, took some time to mull over the idea. (The couple wed in 1997 and are parents to daughters Delilah, 16, and Amelia, 13.)
“[He said], ‘I’ve thought about this, and I actually think it may be a good idea for you to do it,'” Rinna recalled. She added: “So if Harry says okay then you can do it!”
The Days of Our Lives actress went on to joke that she has survived RHOBH up to this point because she knew all of the women before joining the show — except for Brandi Glanville. Specifically, she’s known Lisa Vanderpump and Yolanda Foster for more than two decades.
(As Us Weekly exclusively reported, Glanville is on the verge of getting fired by executive producer Andy Cohen, who, according to a source, has grown tired of her antics.)
“Survival for me is telling the truth and being my authentic self,” she said. “That’s all I know how to do.”
