Riled up. Luke Bryan punched a heckler during his concert at the Charlie Daniels’ all-star Volunteer Jam in Nashville on Wednesday, November 30.
The altercation was captured by Nash Country Daily via YouTube. In the video, the country superstar, 40, briefly pauses mid-song and steps down off the stage to confront the male audience member.
“Come on!” Bryan can be heard saying. The country singer appears to then slap him in the face and neck, which leaves other fans in the crowd stunned.
Bryan’s team issued a statement about the incident on Thursday. “A man in [the] front row was making crude hand gestures toward Luke during his performance,” the statement reads, via Rolling Stone. “It was insulting not only to him, but more importantly to the men, women and families sitting around him who were there to support and celebrate Charlie Daniels and the efforts of raising money for the military veterans — some of who were in the audience. The concert security personnel saw the man’s disruptive actions of the event and he was escorted out.”
The “Kick the Dust Up” singer is next set to perform at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on December 30.
