Behold the power of Madonna.

Performing at Madison Square Garden on Monday, Nov. 12, the “Give Me All Your Luvin'” singer asked fans to give her something else — cold hard cash.

But the money wasn’t for her. It was for the victims of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey and New York, where the Material Girl had spent some time earlier in the week.

“I went down to Rockaway Beach yesterday with my children, and we saw what was going on there, we saw the destruction,” the 54-year-old mother of four said. “It was really sad, but we also saw amazing acts of humanity. People sharing with other people, people working hard, cleaning houses, handing out food, blankets, giving love.”

The superstar then announced that she’d be helping in her own way — by stripping. Taking off her top to reveal the words “No Fear” written on her back, she encouraged the audience to throw money at the stage as she performed a slowed-down version of “Like a Virgin.”

“If you are going to look at the crack of my a–, you better raise some cash!” she yelled at her adoring fans, who responded by showering her with bills.

Of course, Madge isn’t the only star putting her talents to charitable use. Other celebs are getting in on the Sandy action, too.

Justin Bieber, for example, announced via a Facebook post on Nov. 8 that he would donate one dollar of every ticket sold for his four NYC-area shows to Hurricane Sandy relief. And Rihanna paid it forward by giving a thousand sleeping bags to the New York Daily News‘ fund and collecting money at a listening party for her new album, Unapologetic.

New York native Lady Gaga, meanwhile, pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross last week.

“If it wasn’t for NYC: the Lower Eastside, Harlem, the Bronx, and Brooklyn, I would not be the woman or artist that I am today,” she wrote on littlemonsters.com. “New York is relentless ambition, a drive to succeed, a place where there is a natural pursuit of diversity through compassion. Please accept this gift on behalf of myself, my parents Joe and Cynthia, and my sister Natali; with our deepest gratitude, New York, for rising us. Thank you for helping me build my spirit. I will now help you build yours.”

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel took a different but still thoughtful approach and offered to auction off the desk he used while broadcasting from Brooklyn. The custom-made table — currently going for a cool $22,000 — is signed by David Letterman, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.

On the other side of the Hudson, in New Jersey, Real Housewives stars Albie and Chris Manzo have committed to the cause by volunteering to be guest bartenders at Little Town NY on Tuesday, Nov. 20. All proceeds and tips raised while the brothers are behind the bar will go toward “rebuilding and replenishing” local communities in need of food, water, and other supplies.
