Madonna Tangoes With Terrence Howard in Weird, Apocalyptic “Ghosttown” Music Video

Madonna recruited Empire star Terrence Howard to costar in her music video for "Ghosttown."

Two souls doing the Tango in a ghost town. Madonna debuted the brand-new music video for “Ghosttown” on Wednesday, April 8, featuring life in a post apocalyptic wasteland with her assassin-turned-lover played by Terrence Howard.

The video begins with the Queen of Pop, dressed in a dramatic caped outfit, resting on a dirty mattress. The age-defying blonde also sports a grille and has her typically curly tresses straightened to fit the strange vibe of the video. She then leaves her safe haven for the burnt-out world, where she learns that practically everything and everyone are destroyed.

During her utterly depressing outdoor excursion, Madonna piques the attention of Howard, one of the sole survivors, along with a random kid. The actor, who currently plays Lucious Lyon on Empire, fears for his life in this strange “Ghosttown” and points a gun at the Material Girl, only to be entranced by her beauty.

The two then break out into a sexy rendition of the Argentine tango, as she croons: “I’ll be your fire when the lights go out.”

While she’s clearly enamored with the Empire star in the vid, Madonna told Us Weekly in her 25 Things You Don’t Know About Me last month that she prefers films. “I don’t really watch TV. I only like two shows — True Detective and an Irish series called The Fall – and I’m not embarrassed about them,” she told Us. “Many people say, ‘The Fall with Jamie Dornan,’ but I say, ‘The Fall with Gillian Anderson.’ She’s so good.”

The Rebel Heart hitmaker continued: “My ideal day off is spent lying in bed all day — sleeping for a few hours, then waking up and watching old movies, like my favorite, Breathless. I eat in bed, have my children come hang out with me, and then I fall back asleep. I never leave the bedroom.”

Ultimately, it makes sense why Madge chose to venture outdoors in her latest music video. “I have major claustrophobia,” Madonna told Us. “I don’t like being stuck in small, enclosed spaces or in crowds. They freak me out.”
