Sugar Bear made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo patriarch is headed to Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars with longtime love Mama June Shannon, and he has a lot to answer for.
“My biggest issue was my cheating,” Sugar Bear told toofab in a joint interview with Shannon. “I’ve done that and shouldn’t have and I look back on it, I regret it, and I wanted to go to Marriage Boot Camp and get the help that I need.”
Sugar further confessed that his transgressions involved “a lot more than Internet chatting,” contrary to initial reports. In fact, Shannon revealed he’d been unfaithful with a co-worker’s wife.
“It was really hurtful because . . . it was a good friend of ours that we’ve known for quite some time,” she told toofab. “The woman had been to dinner several times.”
Rumors about Sugar Bear’s infidelity first surfaced in September 2014, when TMZ reported that Mama June had kicked him out after she caught him browsing online dating sites. The TLC stars later confirmed to Us Weekly that they’d separated, just 16 months after their headline-making commitment ceremony.
“Sugar Bear and I have decided to take some time apart to figure out some things in our relationship,” Shannon told Us in a statement. “We want to thank y’all for your support.”
