Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mel B, Andy Cohen Reenact Saved By the Bell Scene as Zack, Lisa, and Screech

School’s back in session! Mark-Paul Gosselaar returned to his Saved by the Bell days on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Gosselaar, 40, was on the talk show to promote Franklin & Bash, when host Andy Cohen asked him to become his Saved by the Bell character Zack Morris again. Handing out lines for a scene from the show, Cohen, 46, took on the role of Samuel “Screech” Powers (originated by Dustin Diamond), while fellow WWHL guest Melanie “Mel B” Brown stepped in to play Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies).

The motley trio performed a scene from season four of Saved by the Bell, complete with Gosselaar in a retro ’90s patterned button-down shirt and Cohen in an afro wig to emulate Screech’s ‘do.

The skit begins with Zack and Lisa kissing, while Gosselaar and Brown, 40, chose not to actually lock lips. Screech walks in on the tryst, expressing his dismay that his best friend Zack has gone after a woman he is interested in.

“All of a sudden Screech had a little bit of soul in him,” Gosselaar commented, noting Cohen’s intonation as he read Screech’s lines.

“I know!” Cohen exclaimed. “The afro! I’m Breech, I’m black Screech.”
