Stranger than reality TV. Married to Medicine star Jill Connors was arrested on Friday, Aug. 14, following a dramatic incident at the Alpharetta, Ga., home she shares with husband Dr. John Connors and their three children.
According to a police report obtained by Us Weekly, the couple got into a heated argument on Thursday, Aug. 13, after John discovered text messages from another man on Jill’s phone and confronted her about them. He reportedly threatened to file for divorce and take the kids, at which point the fight escalated.
Jill did not take kindly to John’s threats, and, according to John, began to kick and scratch him, even striking his face with a spoon at one point. John then called 911.
At that point, John told police, she grabbed a kitchen knife and began to cut herself across the arm and chest, screaming, “He’s cutting me!”
According to the police report, two of their children were there to witness the traumatic scene.
When authorities arrived, Jill was quick to admit that she’d started the violence, telling police, “I hit him. I started it, I know.” She still insisted that John had taken the knife to her body, however, which John disputed in a written statement to the police.
When asked to provide specific details, Jill told the responding officers, “It all happened so fast. I don’t know how it happened. I do not know where the knife is.”
As a result of the dispute, Jill was arrested on Aug. 14 and released on Aug. 15 on one count of domestic violence and another count of cruelty to children, since the couple’s kids witnessed the incident.
TMZ reports that Jill then filed for divorce on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
