Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are a very good thing — and so was their Sept. 9 wedding in South Carolina, gushes attendee Martha Stewart.
The homemaker extraordinaire, TV star and mogul, 71, joined the likes of Florence Welch, Lively's Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars America Ferrarra, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn at the Boone Hill Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where Lively, 25, and Reynolds, 35, pulled off the most top-secret celeb wedding of the year.
Stewart told E! News Thursday that the couple are "friends" who "live around the corner" near her own home in Bedford, NY. (Avid baker Lively presumably has much to discuss about the culinary arts with the accomplished cook book author and hostess).
The threesome "hang out," Stewart explained. "[They] are the nicest couple," divorcee Stewart gushed. "And very, very modest and nice, contrary to the parts they play."
One of her magazines, Martha Stewart Weddings, has a feature on the bash in its December issue. The Gossip Girl star was a "very gorgeous" bride, Stewart said, and her man was "a very gorgeous groom."
Fashion world favorite Lively wore a one-of-a-kind couture Marchesa bridal gown with hand-draped silk tulle bodice adorned with crystal and rose embroidery.
An even higher compliment from Stewart? Lively is a "groovy cook . . She makes fabulous things. I got invited for an ice cream soda party!"
