Alright, alright, alright — this is terrifying! Matthew McConaughey can now be added to the list of celebrities who have a doppelgänger.
A photo that looks an awful lot like the Oscar winner was posted by Reddit user EmberRainbow on Tuesday, April 12.
“My Great Great Grandfather looks just like Matthew McConaughey,” EmberRainbow captioned the throwback pic.
That he does. The man (the user didn’t reveal his name or his grandpa’s) is a dead ringer for the Dallas Buyers Club actor, 46. Their hair, eyes(!) and sharp bone structure are remarkably similar.
The black and white photo has since gone viral and is garnering some humorous comments from other Reddit readers.
“That’s what I love about people in old photographs, man. I get older, they stay the same age,” one commenter wrote, referring to a line that McConaughey, as Wooderson, says in 1993’s Dazed and Confused.
A second person joked that the grandfather must have known Abraham Lincoln. “He knew Lincoln long before anyone paid him too. He just liked him,” a third noted, bringing up McConaughey’s amusing Lincoln car commercials.
Other stars who have made headlines because of their doppelgängers include Taylor Swift (remember that grandma?!), Nicolas Cage, Leonardo DiCaprio, Adele and Kim Kardashian.
