Melanie Griffith Explains Her Black Eye

Earlier this week, photographs emerged of Melanie Griffith with a black eye, leading to speculation about its cause.
A rep for the actress spoke out Thursday to clear up confusion about what's behind the facial bruises.

Griffith, 52, had surgery to remove early-stage cancer from her face -- thus leading to the black eye, her rep told the Associated Press Thursday. The very good news: the surgery was done early enough "to prevent further complications," the AP reports.

The Oscar-nominated actress is married to Antonio Banderas, with whom she has a daughter, Stella, 13. Griffith has two other children from previous relationships: Alexander Bauer, 24, and Dakota Johnson, 20 (Dakota's dad is actor Don Johnson).

18Oh, for heaven's sake! Leave her alone. So she doesn't look 22 anymore. What do you expect as a person ages. Someday you ladies will look in the mirror and see the lines and wrinkles. It happens. As for Melanie having Antonio, well obviously you are jealous because you want him. I'll bet he would take a look at you and still pick Melanie, wrinkles and all. Afterall, he picked her. He's still with her and obviously loves her! Why don't you get real, and stop dreaming of stealing Antonio away from her. Not gonna happen.
What i don't understand is. How did she ever get Antonio? Melanie was ugly when she was younger. Now she's uglier&so old looking. Melanie looks like he.ll. Antonio is very goodlooking&sexy. He should've never left his first wife. She is hell alot better looking than Melanie Dog Face. The first wife is very beautiful. It's a shame Melanie didn't inherit her mother's good looks. Plastic surgery only makes look fuglier. It would be no surprise,if Antonio leaves her for a younger woman. Hopefully he'll have better taste.
To all of you saying mean spirited things about her looks, yes, she does look "older" than other "stars" her age, but she has looked her real age for at least five years and she has been with Antonio for a LOT longer than that. With make up she still looks sexy, and you are just jealous that she obviously has something much more important going for her than mere looks to have a man like him. So there, ha!
I am the same age at her. I don't have all those wrinkles. Thank GOD I never let a plastic surgery give me balloon lips. Melanie seems like a sweet person. But, the plastic surgery did nothing for her, but make her look worse. NO MORE PLASTIC SURGERY, MELANIE. EAT HEALTHY, EXERCISE, AND MOST IMPORTANT - WEAR SUNSCREEN - THAT'S IS WHY I HAVE TO WRINKLES. SUNSCREEN SINCE I WAS 18.

Very odd. I've had 2 malignant melanomas ( potentially deadly skin cancers) removed as well as 3 basal cell skin cancers, and another dozen biopsies- never had any bruising.
God, she used to be so cute. She is not aging well & I won't be surprised when Antonio takes off.

I'm surprised Antonio has stuck around this long. She looks like hell. And her alcohol and smoking looks like it is taking it's toll on her. Especially her looks. I'll bet he won't be around too much longer. There are plenty of other women who don't need booze to keep them happy.
