Melissa and Tammy Etheridge Split

After nearly nine years together, Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are done.
"Melissa and Tammy Etheridge are saddened to announce that they are now separated," a rep for the singer tells UsMagazine.com.
"We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period," the duo note in a statement.
Singer Melissa, 48, and actress Tammy (whose former name was Tammy Lynn Michaels), 35, exchanged marital vows in Malibu, Calif. in September 2003.
Using an anonymous sperm donor, Tammy gave birth to their twins -- son Miller and daughter Rose -- in October 2006. Melissa survived a bout with breast cancer that began in 2004.

Grammy-winner Etheridge has two older children (Bailey, 13, and Beckett, 11) with former partner Julie Cypher. Their father is longtime friend David Crosby of Crosby, Stills and Nash.

In an interview with About.com, Tammy gushed about her girlfriend's surprise proposal:
"I was like life-stoppingly shocked. We cried! We sobbed...she had the ring made and everything. She picked out the diamond. She's like one of those romantics that you watch on TV."

There are different types of love: erotic love (romance) and friendship love (non-sexual) to name a few. I believe gay relationships are nothing more than friendships or roommates. It's wrong, it's taboo, and it's downright sickening. Picture ppl right now -- 2 men or 2 women screwing each other. It's impossible. A man and a woman can naturally conceive - you know A+B=C. Two gays or lesbians have to get outside help. Their unions are not and will never be normal or natural.

God made some people gay. You see little kids who are gay or who feel they are living in the wrong body. It's not something at that age they can learn especially because their parents aren't ever too thrilled. So did God make a mistake? I don't think so. But to each his own. In any case two people who loved and cared about each other are now divorced from one another and that always hurts and is sad.
Praise God! If I'm not mistaken there are innocent children in all this. Did it take a man to father the children? Or did some miracle happen that two women was able to get together and do it. Well, If it wasn't for scientific alternatives, the human race would die out for gay couples. But Praise be to God for the man and woman relationship. Does the children have the opportunity to visit their fathers, and do they know that it took a male sperm to fertilize the mothers eggs and that they are normal human beings and not test tube experiments? Can you imagine the difficulty these children will have in life thinking they have two mothers?? It's simply beautiful, the male and female relationship!!!
REBECCA, I don't know what you are talking about. I can't quote the bible, I am sorry. I unfortunately have never read it. I own one and have always had good intentions, but have honestly never made enough of an effort to read it. However, I do go to Sunday mass and hear the gospel. I was simply saying that the bible is a way to learn about God. We are getting way off track here. It always happens when the discussion turns to God. I will say this. "To say that one believes in God is very different from saying that one loves God; for even the devil believes in God. I don't want to argue about God. Even you believe or you do not. I happen to believe; therefore I must also believe in certain values. Again, I will say that I am not judgemental in anyway. I think all people are equal. Being gay does not make a person any less or more than anyone else in God's eyes and should not in mankind's eyes. I am just saying that same sex unions are wrong. So is stealing, jealousy, judging others, abortion, etc. What is wrong with saying that somethings is wrong. We all do wrong things all the time. But turning to God for guidance and direction in our lives, helps us to stay on the straight and narrow. 2010 is a time when the devil is snatching as many souls as he can. Now, that may sound warped. We all will die one day Rebecca. None of us can escape death. Look at life, from beginning to end. We start out in diapers and oftenn end up in diapers. Let us not be fooled by thinking there is not a God. Open up your heart and mind to Jesus and see what happens. Also, Rebecca you are trying to complicate things. I don't have to be a scholar to trust in God. I only have to open my heart up to him. The Lord whats us to come to him as children seeking advice. Lorraine, I am not questioning your faith but you are still not responding to the questions as to the contradictory messages in the Bible. Those such as slavery, men having to wear beards, not eating shellfish,selling ones daughter to pay a debt killing woman who have been raped or forcing them to marry their rapists, etc, etc, etc. Why not? Because you choose what parts of the Bible you will live by and which you will not. That is being a hypocrite and that is what turns people off of "Christians". You can't say that you have compassion for everyone and they tack on a "However" to that. The "However" cancels out any compassion and leaves you sitting in judgment and that is wrong according to the Bible. I guess that is another part of it that you do not choose to follow. Do you not see any of this? How convenient.
Responding to SAME OLD TUNE: Please define religious fanaticism because that I am not. I simply believe in God, why do you call that being a fanatic? To me, a fanatic is someone who does not have a balance in his/her life with regard to religion. Believing in God does not make one a religious fanatic. On the contrary, I could do a lot better in the prayer department. Yes, it is the same old tune. There will always be those that believe and those that do not. "For those that believe in God, no explanation is necessary; and for those that do not, no explanation will be sufficient". I am not accustomed to arguing about the Lord, I don't think God would want that. But, I do believe in praying for others. God does answer prayers. Just because you people who call Christians Bible Thumpers and fanatics, choose otherwise; that does not make it true that there is not a God. I said to you before, take the God challenge. Find a quiet place and ask God to come in to your life, but ask from the heart and not just the lips. All you non-believers, I dare you to try this. You will not, because the devil doesn't want you to. The devil is loving the fact that God is removed from society. Man has forgotten that the Lord died on the cross for all mankind. Think about this. Save the fanatic label for someone else.
