Focused on healing. Michael Bublé “will not sing again until his child is well,” the crooner’s friend David Foster said in an interview on Thursday, November 10.
The music producer told Entertainment Tonight Canada that Bublé, whose 3-year-old son, Noah, was diagnosed with liver cancer, “is in a huge bubble” right now as he and wife Luisana Lopilato focus on their son’s treatment and recovery.
Fans of the singer and the Argentinian actress and model have expressed their support for the family on social media since Bublé shared the news, with the hashtag #PrayForNoah trending on Twitter last week.
“When this happens, everything shuts down around you,” said Foster, who has known the singer since 2000 and signed him to his record label. “You go inside your little bubble, and I don’t think he’s looking at social media. I’m sure he feels the love from the millions of people.”
Foster, 67, told ET Canada that Revlon’s Ron Perelman and actress Marlo Thomas, whose late father, Danny Thomas, founded St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, have reached out to him with offers of help for Noah.
“He’s in good shape,” Foster said of the little boy. “He’s got good doctors around him. We will hope and pray for a good outcome, which I believe that they will have.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, the “Home” singer took to Facebook on November 4 to share the terrible news.
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah, who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S.,” he and Lopilato, 29, wrote in a statement. “We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.”
The couple, who are also parents of son Elias, 9 months, added that they were planning to “devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.”
Lopilato’s sister Daniela spoke to Argentinian magazine Gente earlier this week about Noah’s diagnosis, describing her nephew as “a warrior.”
The magazine reports that Noah will undergo chemotherapy for four months, and treatment would give him a 90 percent chance of beating the cancer.
