Miley and equality for all!
Miley Cyrus' body art sparked a heated discussion on Friday. The 18-year-old tweeted a picture of her finger with what appeared to be a new tattoo of an equals sign; the description said: "All love is equal."
Many are speculating the reason for her new body art is to show her support for gay rights. When one follower asked Cyrus, a self-professed Christian, where in the Bible "God says homosexuality" is okay, she fired back with her own question: "Where does it say in the Bible to judge others? It doesn't. GOD is the only judge, honey. God is love."
But the singer-actress was alright with those who didn't agree with her viewpoint. "Everyone is entitled to their opinions," she said, adding: "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything."

Cyrus' support of the gay community is nothing new. In a interview with Parade magazine published in in March 2010, she said the reason she quit Twitter in Oct. 2009 was partially because of all the negative reactions she got when she spoke out in support of gay rights. "I said on there that I believed in gay marriage because everyone should have the right to love each other," she said. "I got such hate mail about being a bad person."

Tell Us What You Think
36And damn...with all the money she makes, surely she could get better tattoos. Geez!
Religion.....it creates more hate and intolerance than anything else in the world. Thank god I'm an atheist!
The Bible does not condemn judgement. People judge everyday. We are supposed to judge righteously and not by appearance. Jesus said to Simon: "Thou hast rightly judged." In Luke 7:43.
@Joan Bogorae: Well, since The Bible was written in a time when women were considered inferior to men, it made sense for the high priests or apostles or whatever you want to call them, to emphasize this idea, that the woman exists only because man was created first, making it somewhat equal to the idea that man created woman. I don't think I offend anyone here by saying this, 'cause there's no way anything in the Bible happend litelally. The Bible is an allegory, created only to accentuate the existence of a higher power. Yes, we evolved from monkeys, but at the end of the day, the idea that I was brought to life on purpose by a higher being, makes me sleep better at night.
this has made me have so much more respect for her as a person
I mean why couldnt Eve have been created just as easily as Adam was.
I never understood the need to take a rib from Adam. What was the reason?
I am a Christian and I am really sad that not all of us can be more accepting. Fundamentalists call me a "liberal Christian" because I use my brain when I read the Bible. We can't take every single verse of the Bible literally for use in our own time. If we did then we would still need to stone adulterers and rebellious sons. We would have to accept that slavery should be a-ok and I hope that any lady unlucky enough to lose her husband before having kids is prepared to be bedded by all his brothers or relatives until you DO get pregnant. If you accept the verses about homosexuality then why not accept the above verses? What? They are not acceptable in our time? We have a greater knowledge about homosexuality now, that people are born that way. Plus, it is about what sex you fall in love with which is much more than the sexual stuff. All this horrible, vile spewing of hatred will never lift us closer to God as a people. @Melissa Vega: Ashley is right. You aren't helping your kids at all.
Go Miley!
I feel so bad for all of you who have so much hatred in your hearts. Wow. And to that one woman who mentioned she tells her kid homosexuality is disgusting.. I hope she realizes if one of her children realize they're homosexual they'll probably kill themselves out of fear. You can't teach your children to love everyone.. but a certain thing. That's the same as being a racist against blacks, or asians, or whatever. It's all the same. I teach my children tolerance and to love everyone. My daughter was 20 months old the first time she attended a Equal Rights March for homosexuals! My brother is homosexual and a victim of a hate crime. He was simply walking to his car in a parking garage and appeared to be gay so he was jumped by a brainless fool. Also, to those who say it shouldn't be called marriage because the bible tells me so.. The way marriage is being treated today by straight couples is blasphemy so now I demand all marriage rights be taken from EVERYONE. We don't base our government or lives on what "God" supposedly taught. The bible was translated from a language they couldn't possibly comprehend.. how can it be true. For all we know we're all the odd ones out and the homosexuals are the ones living by the true religion. My brother should be able to marry his life partner if he chooses to. He's my kid's uncle.. my brother in law.. an amazing man. If you don't agree with something.. fine.. but that doesn't give you the right to take away someone's ability to live their lives. To marry. To love.
i don't have any tats but i'm getting one just like that one!!
I am always amused at how angry some of the self proclaimed christians get when this topic comes up. Kind of reminds me of political arguments with their ferocity. I will say that I have never been a Miley "fan" and nothing has changed but I do commend her for speaking out and not being afraid to stick to her guns. Having come from the generation of LGBT people who had to always be wary of "straights" and to be relegated to our "closets" I applaud her action. I would like to also say to you ferocious folks who have commented by spewing hate and expletives "grow up"
It breaks my heart to se so called Christians on here spewing hate and venom. That is not what the teaching of Christ are about. Whether you think being gay is a sin or not, you are just as guilty if it is. Here is a Bible verse for you,"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.." Romans 3:23. or how about, â??Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.â?? John 8:7. I am a Bible believing Christian and it is for this reason, I have A. done the research about what the Bible really says about same sex love and B. Love all of God's creations equally. Many Christians did not even believe being gay was wrong until this century. The Bible is the living breathing word of God, but it is also an historical document. So be a good enough Christian to do your research, before you spew Biblical ignorance (lack of knowledge) all over other people. And finally, the best advice ever given, "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." Matthew 7:5
It's a shame how people always seem to express their negative opinions about God...refering to Him as nothing but 'old' religion. Limiting God's Word to something that wasn't manifested by His supernatural influence. Confusing the old testament (things that happened BC) with the new testament (things that happened AC). What we need to do (if we truly aspire it) is to build a RELATIONSHIP with the Creator. That's when we can all truly understand His purpose and realize that the enemy (satan) has a job that it's extremely good at...to lie, steal and destroy what God created. If you really want to change your mind about the world, meditate on Romans 12:2...Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Godâ??s will isâ??his good, pleasing and perfect will. Blessings.
MAJOR US DEBT CRISIS going on. Just saying! P.S. Well done Miley!

Wasn't ever a huge Miley fan but after that grown up answer to an all too common attitude I am a Fan! :)
I have no problem with people's lifestyle choices (whether they can help it or not). What I do have a problem with is calling it "marriage." Marriage is not only described in the Bible as a union between a man and woman, but in the very foundation of our country. I'm all for legalizing equal rights for partners to join in a legal union of a different name, but not a "marriage." Everyone has the right to insurance benefits, financial decisions, etc. and to share those with a significant other. As a Christian, I'm not the judge. As an American, I would prefer to keep our values intact and stick with the very definition of marriage - a union between a man and WOMAN.
IT'S A JOKE.ITS NOT NORMAL 4 A MAN TO STICK HIS COCK IN ANOTHER MANS A HOLE.THATS RIGHT PEOPLE DONT JUDGE.BUT WE ARE NOT JUDGING,IT'S WRONG AND VIAL.I TELL MY KID ITS WRONG AND NASTY.AND I DONT HATE QUEER'S JUST THERE ACTION'S. NOW 1 2 LET ME HAVE IT.
The book most often quoted which condemns homosexuality also says that we cannot eat shrimp or any other shellfish. We can never cut our hair. We can't leave the house when we have our period. We can't wear cotton polyester. Oh, and if a man rapes a woman, he gets to buy her as his punishment! Cafeteria Christians need to stop being so militant about one verse in an entire book while completely ignoring the rest.
