Miley Cyrus Pays Tribute to Late Pup Floyd on What Would Have Been His 5th Birthday

Bittersweet memories. Miley Cyrus took to Instagram to pay tribute to her late pup Floyd on Thursday, May 5, which would have been her beloved pet’s fifth birthday.

“My dearest Floyd, i am sending you so much love and happiness on this very special day.... The day you were born,” the pop star, 23, wrote alongside a pic of her performing on her 2013 Bangerz Tour, next to a larger-than-life replica of her deceased dog. “Weirdly enough I woke up very sick and stuck in bed ... Heart break often comes with flu like symptoms.”

“I miss you desperately and I wish with all my heart that your 5th birthday could be spent here in bed with me,” the animal-loving singer continued. “Mommy loves loves loves you and all your baby brothers and sisters wish you a #happybirthdayfloyd.” She also posted snaps of her other dogs in honor of Floyd’s birthday.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Cyrus mourned the loss of Floyd on April 2, 2014, when she announced his tragic death on social media.

“Today is the 2nd worst day of my life,” the former Hannah Montana star tweeted at the time. “I don't wanna say it because I don't want it to be real... But my precious baby Floyd has passed away. I am broken."

The “We Can’t Stop” singer, who adopted the precious Alaskan Klee Kai in 2011, also shared an Instagram post shortly after Floyd died to further express her grief.

"I know I don't mean it but I wish he would've taken me with him this is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him?" she captioned a photo of the canine licking her face.

Prior to Floyd’s death, Cyrus shared the sad news that her Yorkie mix puppy Lila had passed away in December 2012. The Miles Away author is also the owner of several rescue dogs, including Ziggy, Mary Jane, Penny Lane and Happy.
