Awkward? In the liner notes of her new album, Bangerz, Miley Cyrus gives a special thank-you to Liam Hemsworth -- her now ex-fiance.

"I couldn't have made this album without one person . . . FE, thank you for inspiring me. (PS I love you)," the shout-out says (via Just Jared). "FeFe" is a reported pet name the 20-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer had for the 23-year-old Hunger Games actor.

It's unclear if the note was written before or after they announced their breakup via their reps on Sept. 16. The couple, who met on the set of 2010's The Last Song, apparently didn't end their relationship on good terms. "Liam and Miley are completely done and broken up," a source told Us. Another insider added: "She wants nothing to do with him, and vice versa. It's bad."

Bangerz, Cyrus' fourth studio album hitting stores Oct. 4, is filled with kiss-off anthems that hint at her former relationship with Hemsworth. In "Drive," Cyrus sings, "Forever's out the door!"

Back in May, the former Hannah Montana star used her album as an excuse for why she was spending so little time with Hemsworth as rumors spread that their relationship was crumbling. "I'm not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work," she told V magazine. "I don't have time go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't. I'd rather chill at my house and be there for the time I actually get to spend with him. And then I'm at the studio all day. He gets up to work out at six and I come home at five from the studio. I put this record before everything, and I've never done that with anything. I've put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it."
