When it comes to celebrating their first wedding anniversary, country music's cutest--and most laid-back--couple doesn't necessarily need a big to-do.
Miranda Lambert opened up to Us Weekly at the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night about how she plans to spend her big day with hubby Blake Shelton.
"I think [Blake's] gonna be at The Voice, so I'll probably be at home with my dogs," Lambert admitted to Us.
Lambert, 28, and Shelton, 35, were wed in a San Antonio ceremony May 14, 2011. Though the pair spend as much time together as they can, between their busy touring and appearance schedules, they've often had to make it work long-distance during their first year of marriage.
Still, Shelton's coaching gig on NBC's hit singing competition has given them an excuse to finally spend some time together. Lambert joined Team Shelton this season as a mentor, and the pair--who reside together on a 1,200 acre Oklahoma ranch--set up a temporary home in Los Angeles.
"I told him if he wanted me to come see him in L.A. he would have to get me a place with a pool and a yard for the dogs," the "Gunpowder and Lead" songstress joked to Us. "He did it!"
A source close to the pair says Lambert and Shelton are making the most of their time together on the West Coast. "Being on The Voice is great for them," the source says. "You can see Blake just lighten up and soften whenever she's around...and Miranda is a great energy around the set when she's there."
Unbeknownst to Lambert, the source adds that Shelton does in fact have something up his sleeve for their special day. "He's planning something big for their anniversary," the source shares. "It will surely involve lots of drinking, and some more diamonds!"
