Miss Slovenia Ana Halozan is the real Miss Universe winner. The brunette beauty appeared on stage Sunday, December 20, following a seizure that left the right side of her face paralyzed.
During the inspiring moment at the 64th annual Miss Universe pageant, Halozan, who was unable to compete following her health scare, gracefully walked on stage and had her moment to shine.
“She thought she had lost her chance, but she didn’t,” host Steve Harvey explained while introducing Halozan during the telecast. “Let’s give her that moment for fulfilling her dream of walking on the Miss Universe stage with her friends. Please welcome Miss Universe Slovenia.”
Looking beautiful in a bold red dress, Halozan appeared to be grateful as she received flowers and a hug from past winner Paulina Vega.
“How did this happen to me? What I did in my past that this needs to be with me right now?” Halozan shared in an emotional clip that aired during the show. “When they say to me in hospital that I can’t go to the pageant, I was, like, ‘Are you joking with me?’ I will go.”
The touching moment occurred prior to Harvey’s crowning gaffe. At the end of the pageant, the Family Feud host accidentally named Miss Colombia as the winner instead of Miss Philippines. Watch the OMG moment above.
