They're not pen pals, but it's a start! Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach exclusively reveals to Us Weekly that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez has finally contacted her following Steve Harvey's embarrassing Miss Universe flub announcing the winner.
"She replied to me, but I haven't seen her yet," Wurtzbach, 26, explained during her visit to Us Weekly's NYC headquarters on Wednesday, January 6. "I'm not exactly sure where she is right now." (Wurtzbach, however, kept mum on what was discussed.)
She added, "I heard she was in Miami, but I don't know if she went back to Colombia yet. But if I ever visit Colombia, I hope to see her."
As previously reported, Harvey, 58, accidentally crowned Gutierrez, 22, the victor during the show last month. Wurtzbach and Harvey both reached out to Gutierrez after the incident, but the Family Feud host appears to still be waiting to hear back.
"I would respond to him. I think it takes a lot for him to admit that he made a mistake, especially like that. It was on live television. And for him to consistently keep on reaching out to her — it's a very admirable move from him," Wurtzbach tells Us. "But that's me. I wouldn't really know. Maybe she's still in the process of understanding what's going on right now. And I respect that. That's OK. I think she will eventually."
