Misty Upham Memorial Service Takes Place With Friends, Family: Video

A memorial for Misty. The late actress Misty Upham was remembered on Saturday, Oct. 25, when a memorial service was held in her honor in Washington state. 

The August: Osage County actress was laid to rest by friends and family at the Muckleshoot Pentecostal Church in Auburn, Wash. Upham’s body was found “in a wooded area near Forest Ridge Drive in Auburn” earlier this month after she had been missing for more than a week.

Details surrounding the death of the Big Love alum, who was 32 at the time of her passing, have been murky, and questions have been raised about how the local police force handled her disappearance.

Following her death, Upham was honored with three days of services at the Muckleshoot Pentecostal Church, leading up to Saturday afternoon’s memorial service.

The late Native American star, who was a member of the Blackfeet Tribe, was memorialized with a processional (shown in the video above from guest Cecilia Ann Turner) as attendees stood to open the ceremony. As drums played, a slideshow was shown with photos of Upham from over the years. 

“It was beautiful and amazing,” said Turner, a friend of the deceased. “A lot of dancing, singing, and food.”
