After totaling his McLaren F1 supercar near Cambridgeshire, England Thursday, Mr. Bean star Rowan Atkinson has fortunately suffered only a minor shoulder injury, the BBC reports.
The $1.2 million road car, which can reach a top speed of 230 mph and holds the record as the fastest car in the world, crashed on the side of a highway after striking a tree and a lamppost, then burst into flames.
The 56-year-old British actor was able to escape the vehicle and waited until emergency personnel arrived to the scene. He was discharged from Peterborough City Hospital Friday afternoon.
The comedian's severe accident comes only a month and a half after Jackass star Ryan Dunn, with a blood alcohol level of .196, died after crashing his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 in Pennsylvania July 20. For Atkinson, however, officials claim that alcohol wasn't a factor in the incident. Police told CBS News that the Blackadder star was given a routine breathalyzer test at the scene and will face no criminal charges.
