Small children living large! At just 4 years old, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka's kids are already developing expensive taste.
Actor and chef Burtka, 39, dished on the couple's twins Gideon and Harper in a new interview with The New Potato, highlighting the refined preferences that the youngsters have.
"My kids are crazy eaters," he told the food publication. "They have incredible palates."
"Gideon eats everything you put in front of him," Burtka said of his preschool-aged son. "His passion for cooking and eating good food is in his soul. His favorite foods: Clams, sushi, octopus, grilled pork, steak, Parmesan cheese, ginger, mint, cinnamon and coconut."
"Harper likes very strong and briny flavors," the Broadway star added of his little girl. "Some of her favorites: Oysters, sardines, prosciutto, capers, duck liver, miso, and anything chocolate."
Burtka and Harris, 41, try to keep up with their kids' tastes in the kitchen of their New York City home.
"I cook for them a ton!" Burtka said of his twins and his husband of seven months. "I make ceviche and grilled fish a lot. We eat clams and mussels at least once a week, and I make a lot of sous vide proteins like pork chops, chicken, and fish to take out of the freezer in the morning and sear. I always have poached shrimp and blanched vegetables on hand."
The happy couple welcomed their discerning little ones via a surrogate in October 2010. Harris regularly gushes about his family on social media and spoke to Glamour last August about becoming a father.
"Having kids was one of those great moments for me," he said. "Watching David become another level of person, mastering this other domain, made me look at him with a whole other set of appreciative eyes. That sort of made me re-fall in love with him."
