Back on? Not so fast! Nick Jonas and Kendall Jenner attended his star-studded Terminal 5 concert afterparty together in New York City at the Purple Door on Wednesday, Sept. 9, after briefly dating earlier this summer, but an eyewitness tells Us Weekly exclusively that the pair didn’t seem romantic.
“Nick and Kendall arrived and walked in together, but immediately separated,” a partygoer tells Us of the duo. Jenner, 19, clad in thigh-high snakeskin boots and a black tank, instead ran straight for BFF Gigi Hadid, who was at the bash with boyfriend Joe Jonas, Nick’s brother. “Kendall went and hugged Gigi and stayed talking with her the rest of the night,” the observer tells Us. “Nick was mingling around the party and dancing with several attractive women — Kendall didn’t seem to mind.”
As previously reported by Us, it was fellow model Hadid, 20, and Joe, 26, who attempted to set up Jenner and Nick, 22, this past July. “Gigi and Joe were trying to encourage the relationship,” a source told Us of the model and “Jealous” singer, who have always had a “flirty chemistry.” “Nick thinks she’s hot,” the insider added at the time. “They want to make sure the attention is worth it before they really go for it.”
Although Jenner and Nick separately kept to themselves Wednesday night, lovebirds Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart got cozy at the former Disney star’s sold-out concert prior to the afterparty.
“J.Lo and Casper were very close and he kept putting his hand on her waist,” another source tells Us of the longtime on-again, off-again couple, who attended Nick’s show along with celebs Kate Hudson, Hilary Duff, and Hailee Steinfeld.
Nick previously dated Olivia Culpo for two years before splitting this past June. Jenner has previously been linked to Lewis Hamilton, whom she had lunch with the following day at Chalk Point Kitchen. However, a source close to the Formula One race car driver maintains that Hamilton is still very much single. “I don’t think anything will happen, to be honest,” the pal tells Us of the two.
