Nicki Minaj's older brother Jelani Maraj has been arrested on charges of rape of a 12-year-old, Newsday reports, citing a source.
Maraj, 37, was arrested on Long Island on Tuesday, Dec. 1, Us Weekly can confirm. According to Newsday, he was arraigned Thursday on first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct charges.
Maraj was released from the Nassau County jail in East Meadow on $100,000 bail. He's scheduled to be back in court on Dec. 9.
Back in August, Minaj, 32, reportedly footed the $30,000 wedding bill for Maraj and his longtime girlfriend, Jacqueline Robinson. The couple tied the knot at the Coral House on Milburn Lake in Baldwin, N.Y.
"Jelani, I love u more than you'll ever comprehend," Nicki captioned an Instagram photo of the siblings at the time. (She pays tribute to him in her song "All Things Go" off her third studio album, The Pinkprint.)
"I would cross the ocean for u. I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man," she continued. "Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favorite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brother smile."
