Nearly a week after his sudden death at the age of 36, former fiancee Nicole Richie and other star pals attended the "open 12-step meeting" memorial of DJ AM (real name: Adam Goldstein) Thursday evening.

Lindsay Lohan, fellow DJ Samantha Ronson, John Mayer and Robert Downey Jr., were among the celebrities who attended the service at the Hollywood Palladium. The late star's girlfriend Hayley Wood also attended.
Richie — who dated the DJ for several years beginning in 2004 and is due to give birth to her second child with beau Joel Madden — arrived to the memorial 15 minutes early. The star gave DJ AM's parents a hug before sitting down in the front row. Although she cried throughout the evening, the star, 27, kept her sunglasses on during the entire service, which began at 7:30 p.m. PST and lasted more than two hours, an eyewitness tells Usmagazine.com.
The memorial was attended by approximately 2,000 people. Several guests participated in the 12-step process, including Scott Caan, who wrote a rap to commemorate his friend and their time growing up together. Others who took the podium included club promoter Brent Bolthouse and Korn drummer Rob Patterson.
Wood also spoke about their relationship, which she said began as a friendship and evolved.
DJ AM was found dead last week in New York. Police officials say pills that appeared to be the powerful painkiller OxyContin were found in his stomach and throat.
