Nicollette Sheridan may have been killed off Desperate Housewives, but her legal troubles with the hit ABC show live on.
On Friday, the 47-year-old actress removed claims of physical and mental abuse in her $20 million lawsuit against her former employer, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry. When she first filed suit in April, Sheridan alleged that during a script dispute on September 24, 2008, Cherry "took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hands across her face and head."
Sheridan also named Touchstone Television Productions, ABC Studios and ABC Entertainment in the suit.
With the abuse allegations now retracted, the defense has agreed to drop its request for Sheridan to submit to physical and psychological evaluations, Radar Online reports.
Per the agreement, the case will continue without those causes of action provided a judge signs off on the stipulation. The actress, whose final episode aired in April 2009, still has the right to pursue lost wages, benefits and other financial compensation.
