"We tried," Vicki, 48, told Us. "It's just too hard on both of us."

She added: "It is amicable and we want to keep this as private as possible."

Gunvalson also addressed the split on her official Facebook page.

"Donn has been an important part of my life and he will continue to be," she wrote. "I would like to thank all of you for the outpouring of love and support that we have received."

Vicki and Donn wed in 1994; although they have no kids together, her children from her first marriage, Michael and Briana, lived with them in their home.

In attempt to rekindle their romance, the pair renewed their vows during a tropical getaway in July 2009 in a sweet ceremony filmed for the show.

vicki said she just wanted to be hugged. to her brother she said she wanted it all. someone to do things with.how many times did don ask you to start enjoying life with him. you both worked hard. you just shot him down. when you give nothing you don't deserve anything. i wish don the best and hope he finds someone who will be deserving of his love.

Vicki did Don a favor by leaving, because she treated that man like he was nothing. He put up with her BULLS*** for along time, trying embarrassing him on TV and with her friends. He will be happier with a real good woman, Vicki nothing but a low life trying to be like Tamara, which ain't saying much because both of them are nothing but pure TRASH!!!! They both deserve to get what's coming to them!! Don is a good man, it won't be a problem finding a good woman!!!

Vicki why did you renew your vows and then give up on your marriage a year later?? What the hell happened when you came home from Turks? That's just like the Gosselins renewing their vows on TV and then he moves out that year, none of this is reality, producers make them do stuff to get ratings, that's just not right!

Quarter of a century? Last time I checked, that was 25 years. They were only married for 16...

I'm amazed that Donn put up with her for a quarter of a century. At least now his life wont be micro managed every second. Best of luck to them both.

You could tell on the show that things were not good, doesn't surprise me one bit, very sad though!

Vicki needs to get a life and get out of everyone else's..maybe that would have saved her marriage

Good for Don, she's a pig

  • October 20, 2010 - 11:47am Filomena Araujo

I like Vicki, but I hate when people say I want to keep this private and then post on FB, and talk to magazines about it.

  • October 20, 2010 - 8:21am Ariel Beckner

Good for Don. I hope all men stay away from this pig in the future.

Vicki is a B?TCH and Don is lucky to be getting away from her. HE was stupid to renew his vowels with her he should of told her NOOOO

And again with another topic I could care less about. Vicki is a b itch. All the money she has in her bank account, can NEVER change that fact.

  • October 19, 2010 - 11:02pm Mary Kolek Stone

Don't announce it on your FB page publicly if you want to keep it private.

  • October 19, 2010 - 10:23pm Anne McGill

Donn put up with a lot of very public insults and put-down from Vickie. I hope he finds someone who appreciates him. I think Vickie doesn't know why she hates men. She fights with every man she knows. I think she sees every relationship as a competition that she must win. The problem is she doesn't have the capacity to share love.

  • October 19, 2010 - 10:17pm Manda Bragg

I think Vicki didn't realize how badly she was treating him and when she did, tried to mend it. I don't think that's what the problem was though. They were two very different people. She's a very career oriented, motivated, independent woman. She proves that you don't need a man to be successful but unfortunately, her husband is the type of man that needs to be needed. There's nothing wrong with that. They weren't exactly a perfect match but they did a heck of a job... 16 years is a long time.

Don will find someone else. He's such a great catch. The one I can't stand on that show is Alexis.

  • October 19, 2010 - 8:25pm Claudia N. Goodall

I agree I saw this coming. For the most part I like Vicki's professional drive but she treated Donn like crap. That renewing of the vows was so phoney. He seems like a nice guy but he needed someone who wasn't so professional driven and focused on self. Good luck to them both.

  • October 19, 2010 - 7:39pm Lori Ricker Griffis

They tried but when you have a camera stuck in your face 24/7 and a woman that is a controlling slave driver, No, it's not going to work. Good Luck Vicki on finding your 3rd punching bag.
