Oksana: Why I Taped Mel Gibson's Phone Rants

Oksana Grigorieva is finally talking about her ongoing, public battle with ex Mel Gibson -- the custody fight over daughter Lucia, the harrowing audio tapes and disturbing photos alleging physical abuse.
"I'm devastated. Everybody's devastated," Grigorieva, 40, tells Radaronline in her first extended interview since the scandal broke a few weeks ago. (The Russian musician gave a very brief comment to photographers last week.)

"I think Mel, basically, is trivializing domestic violence," she says.
"It is unfair that by standing up to somebody -- and speaking out -- I am being victimized all over again. He has hurt so many people."
Gibson hasn't publicly commented on Grigorieva's claims, but a source close to the actor insists he did not abuse her.
Once again, she denies allegations by Gibson's legal team that she attempted to extort Gibson, 54. "It is all false information he is feeding the press. It is a smear campaign," she adds.

Explaining that a court order prevents her from getting into details, she begs her ex and father to Lucia, 8 months: "Speak the truth, tell the truth, for the sake of your daughter."
Finally, she explains why she chose to tape the shocking, obscenity-laced phone calls and voicemails from Gibson that have stormed the web.

"Because I didn't think I was going to make it through the night," she explains.
She adds that all of that disturbing audio was recorded during one night.

"Everything, by the way, this is really important, all the tapes that you hear on the Internet, all of them were recorded that one night...The tapes, as you call them, the voicemails, everything was recorded that night because I was in fear for my life."
She adds: "I really did not think I was going to make it."
Authorities are investigating both the extortion charge against Grigorieva, as well as domestic violence claims against Gibson.

I was in an abusive marriage. mel has a serious problem just like my x. I had 4 children and yes I want to stay because 2 incomes were better then one. My husband was a successful professional. I had a good job but not enough to support 4 children. Child support would not be enough. I call police twice when it was life threating because I knew that it was about a broken tooth it was about getting struggle. I had to choose being having a home with love without the materials things or a house with rage for my kids and myself. Yes, I could have taken part of my husbands business but I knew that it was not worth the drama for my kids and myself. So i take the child support which I never increase and work hard to provide for my kids a happy home. They know the difference and they have a foundation. I did not expect my husband to take care of me or our children. I was Bless with my children and at the end we really did not miss teh comfort of material things. My kids learn about respect, compassion, giving, forgiving and working. So I do am not on her side. I did not get a payed massion or anything out of this marriage. I got a loan and bought his part of the house right after we parted. He continue to pay his child support which was not much. But he miss out more then money can by. Ugly things were said in the arguements but I know that it was his alcohol. Yes, it I fear for my life it is not about taking a chance with this rage. it is about taking your kids and yourself out of that environment. Unless you cannot give up $$$$$ and the confort. I do like Mel and think he got taken. She knew who he was and that he already had a serious problem. Why have a child to lock him up for years to come. Maybe she saw a fairy tale that ended. Sad but true..My kids are grown. Last child livign home soon. I am in my 50's cannot retire but will continue to support myself and if possible give my kids or others in need a helping hang. I still am in my home but it is not paided for most likely with the economy with have to give it up. Yes, there is fear but I know and have Faith that God has carried me and wil continue to do so.
She is definitely NOT crazy ... she is very very smart ... think about it ... she found a extremely wealthy older man (with a penchant for alcohol)... and got pregnant with his child ... then when she wasn't getting what she wanted from the relationship (MONEY) ... she made sure he was liqoured up and pushed all the right buttons ... then recorded the outcome ... had the recordings altered (so the public would not hear what she really had to say to incite his rage)... altered a few pictures of herself ... and sold it all to the public with the hopes of ruining him and making some money in the process

Having knowledge of domestic violence, I can assure u there are MANY women who wouldn't call the police. This is out of fear. Many men/victimizers only stay few days in jail, only to return to the victim more angry which results in MORE violence. Some perpetrators will say "If u go to the police I'll kill u." Think about all the privledges Mel's receiving now. If he was Mel the shoeshiner, they'd throw his butt in jail (b'cause of the tapes) so fast he could 4get it.

I don't understand why people are saying that Oksana is crazy. Maybe only a select few really heard what Mel said because from my stand point HE is the crazy one. If it was any other woman who received these phone messages or calls they would be outraged and they would have a million other women defending them. I didn't know it was called extortion when you are building a defense against a nut who is trying to get custody of your daughter. So she asked for more than 15 million to raise her daughter and so what think of all the other celebrity baby mom's who did the same. Look at what Diddy's ex gets or Russell Simmons AND SHE HAS HER OWN JOB!!!!!!!!!
