En garde! Olympic fencer Tim Morehouse is ready to take on his latest challenge off the mat, as an E! News special correspondent, the athlete recently revealed to Us Weekly.

“As an Olympic athlete in a sport like fencing there aren’t always the same opportunities to cross over into broadcasting,” he told Us. “So I’m really excited to have this opportunity with E! News to show the world what I can do!”

“I’ve always been a big fan of E! and E! News,” he continued. “They do a great job covering entertainment news in a fun and insightful way. I’m excited as an athlete to bring a new and fresh perspective.”

Morehouse, 34, has been competing competitively in the sport since his high school days, and took home the silver medal as part of the United States’ men’s fencing team back in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

He got his first taste in front of the camera four years later, at the 2012 London games when he taught TV personality Ross Matthews how to fence. Shortly afterward, the Olympic athlete conducted his first interview, with New York Ranger Brad Richards (who is also the face of shirt line Untuckit).

Morehouse’s second interview, with Dancing With the Stars finalist and Olympic gold gymnast Shawn Johnson, aired on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

But just because he’s trying his hand at a different gig doesn’t mean Morehouse is leaving his fencing days behind. In fact, he tells Us, he’s planning on keeping his schedule full by continuing to compete while also pursuing a career on-air, as well as launching his foundation, Fencing in the Schools, later this year, bringing awareness of the sport to younger kids.
