Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller will have to wait a few more days before they meet in court -- thanks to Mueller's oral infection that necessitated surgery, reports the Associated Press.
Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day 2009 on suspicion of felony menacing, second-degree assault and criminal mischief. In a police affidavit, Mueller claimed that her husband threatened to kill her and held a knife to her throat in their Aspen, Colo. (Sheen denied these claims.)
But the couple had planned to ask a judge Wednesday to lift a protection order that prevents them from contacting one another; that hearing is now rescheduled for Friday.
"They’re very much in love, and they want to try to work it out." Mueller's attorney Yale Galenter told UsMagazine.com Dec. 30. "I think they had a really bad day, which is probably an understatement, but they need their privacy and they need some time."
