Three years after the death of her husband, actor Patrick Swayze, Lisa Niemi has found love again.
On October 10, Swayze’s widow stepped out in Miami, Florida, with her new boyfriend, jeweler Albert DePrisco. The new couple met through a mutual friend at a birthday party for Niemi, 56.
Niemi was married to Swayze for 34 years. The Dirty Dancing actor lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at age 57 in September 2009. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, 58, Niemi admitted her husband’s death made her appreciate her time on earth more.
“You end up living a lot more in the moment,” she explained. “You realize that we don’t have anybody for long, and we don’t even have our own lives for long.”
“I’ve been really blessed to have a man who always believed in me and who thought I was smart and beautiful and good,” said Niemi, who never had children. “And I hope I can continue to prove him right, that he was right about me.”
