She’ll always be daddy’s little girl. Paul Walker’s teenage daughter, Meadow, paid tribute to her late father on what would have been his 42nd birthday on Saturday, Sept. 12, in a heartbreaking Instagram post.
The now 16-year-old brunette shared an old snapshot of herself as an adorable toddler smiling by her actor dad’s side. The father-daughter duo share the same defined brows and piercing blue eyes (Meadow’s mom is Paul’s ex, Rebecca Soteros.)
“Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions,” she captioned the precious photo. “His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill.”
“I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world,” she continued. “I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood”
The foundation will help the “ocean leaders of tomorrow become beacons in the fight to protect our oceans, wildlife, and ourselves,” according to the organization’s official Facebook page.
This isn’t the first time Meadow has shared her sentiments about her dad. On Father’s Day, the brave teen posted a heartwarming shot of herself as a baby snuggling in the Fast and Furious actor’s arms.
Paul died in a car crash in November 2013 on his way to a charity event for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide, in Valencia, Calif. His friend and business advisor, Roger Rodas, was driving at the time. Rodas also died in the accident.
The actor’s many friends and fans have celebrated his life in the nearly two years since his death.
In March, the actor’s Fast and Furious costar and good friend Vin Diesel told the Today show’s Natalie Morales that he’d decided to name his newborn baby girl after Paul.
“While I was in the hospital, the name that I will give you is… I named her, I named her Pauline,” an emotional Diesel said. “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just thought … I knew he was there and it felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.”
