Their marriage went sour. Georgia peach Phaedra Parks is splitting from husband Apollo Nida after five years of marriage, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star "has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage," her rep tells Us.
The news comes after a tumultuous year for the couple, who wed in 2009, and share two young sons, Ayden, 4, and Dylan, 17 months.
Nida, 35, was sentenced in July to eight years in prison on fraud charges after being arrested in January. Last month, he missed his jail deadline, headed over to his wife's home, and blew up when he realized Phaedra had changed the locks.
“It was the most bizarre thing," a source previously told Us of the incident. "Everyone thought he was already at jail this morning. He drove himself to jail and was supposed to be there by noon. So Bravo came over to her house to start filming her coming home and all that stuff. The whole Bravo crew saw it — it’s all on tape. Everyone was shocked."
Nida foreshadowed his split this past summer, when he was asked by a local radio station whether he thought his marriage would make it beyond his prison sentence.
"I doubt it," he responded, criticizing Parks for not offering her support while he was on trial. "I mean, my wife didn't even f–king show up for my sentencing," Nida said. "I'm still salty about that."
