The 33-year-old actor and higher-education enthusiast graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts on Tuesday with an MFA in filmmaking.
Another graduate snapped a TwitPic of the Oscar-nominee wearing his standard-issue purple robe and black mortarboard.

In addition to Franco's most recent degree from NYU, he has a degree in creative writing from Columbia. He's currently working towards an English doctorate from Yale University; the 127 Hours star has also studied poetry at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina and most recently was accepted into the University of Houston's doctoral program in literature and creative writing.
He'll begin his studies in Houston in fall 2012.

2Congrats! I am so happy for him!I am graduating myself this coming weekend! Yayyyyyyy good for him, at least he's doing good things by getting an education, something he can always fall back on in the event that he decides to walk away from acting.
This is great! I'm planning to go to grad school, and he inspires me so much. It's rare to find an actor who wants to be as well-educated as he does. Very impressive!
