How will she top it next year?
Katy Perry‘s family and friends made sure the singer’s 28th birthday on Thursday, Oct. 25 was a special one — with the help of Michelle Obama!
The singer kicked off her birthday by having lunch with the first lady. “Now my birthday is complete! Lunch with Michelle Obama,” she tweeted with a photo of herself and Michelle posing together with big smiles. On Wednesday, Oct. 24, Perry endorsed President Barack Obama (by wearing a ballot dress) during a performance at the America Forward! Grassroots event in Las Vegas.
But Perry’s birthday celebration continued the rest of the day. The “Part of Me” singer attended the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Show at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, and enjoyed a special dinner at Red O restaurant with family and friends in Los Angeles.
The table sang Perry “Happy Birthday” and bought a bottle of Dom Perignon, a source tells Us Weekly. The group also enjoyed pitchers of margaritas to celebrate.
“Thank you all for making me feel so special today,” the “Teenage Dream” singer tweeted later that night. “I’m overwhelmed with all the love that I might have a small happy cry now. So blessed.”
On Oct. 19, Perry celebrated her birthday early with boyfriend John Mayer by her side, and stars Kristen Stewart, Neil Patrick Harris and others in attendance. The singer dressed up as a sexy vampire for a costume party at Magic Castle in Los Angeles.
“They were in their own world. She didn’t even talk to her friends much,” a partygoer told Us of Perry and Mayer, 35. “It was just her and John. She’s obsessed with him. She said hello to people but then went right back to him.”
