Pink's Husband Carey Hart Recovering From Back Surgery, Tweets From Hospital: "I'm Hurting"
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery! Pink's husband, retired motocross racer Carey Hart, is on the mend after having surgery on his back on Tuesday, Feb. 18, he told fans via Instagram.
"Here we go, surgery bound," the 38-year-old father of one (to daughter Willow, 2) captioned a photo of himself smiling and relaxing in a hospital bed. "My daughter Willow made sure I had her baby blanket w/ me. My wife is by my side and all is good!!! Let's do this. And no I haven't had any drugs yet. #FuseThisOldBack"
The next morning, Feb. 19, he shared another, considerably less happy picture from the hospital. "I'm hurting, but I'll be better soon," he wrote alongside the shot. "Can only get better from here."
This is not the first time Hart has gone under the knife, but it is the first time he's done so by choice. Back in 2003, he had surgery after crashing during a ride in Tony Hawk's Boom Boom HuckJam tour; he broke both legs and arms and had blood clotting so severe he nearly died. The accident took him out of racing for three years.
Hart has had other injuries, too, and was in the hospital for a sixth back surgery as recently as December 2013. Maybe the seventh time is the charm?
"Today is a pretty crazy day for me. Today is my last time on a motorcycle for 4-5 months," he wrote in a post on Instagram one day before his latest surgery. "It's weird 'cause I have never had elective surgery. Feels like I'm turning myself in tomorrow. Live for today I guess!"
