Police Arrest Robbery Suspect After He Poses for a Snapchat Selfie With Victim

Snapchat shenanigans. Police were able to track down a robbery suspect thanks to the selfie he took with the victim, the Associated Press reports.

Victor Almanza-Martinez, 18, was allegedly one of three men who stole personal property and a car from four victims in Castroville, California, on Wednesday, December 30. The incident occurred at Lovers Point Park and was reported to authorities at 1:12 a.m.

According to the AP, Almanza-Martinez decided to chat with one of the female victims before leaving the scene. He exchanged Snapchat information and even took a selfie with the unidentified woman, which later helped Pacific Grove police find and arrest him.

Almanza-Martinez was charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, violation of probation and gang enhancements. The stolen vehicle is still missing as a search continues for the other two suspects.

Almanza-Martinez is currently being held at the Monterey County Jail. His bail is set at $170,000.
