Absolutely heartbreaking. Queen of Versailles stars Jackie and David Siegel have opened up about the death of their 18-year-old daughter Victoria in a new interview.
As previously reported, Victoria was found unresponsive around 2 p.m. ET at her family's home in Florida on June 6. Autopsy results released on July 29 ruled her death an accident and revealed that she died as the result of methadone and sertraline toxicity. (Family spokesman Michael Marder told Us Weekly last month that Victoria had a history of seizures and became dependent on prescribed medication.)
"As a mother, I can say it’s the most horrible thing I have ever experienced, and I personally have not stepped foot inside the house since Victoria died," Jackie said during an Inside Edition interview, set to air Thursday.
David added: "I haven't been back to the house. One of the bedrooms was going to be hers."
Jackie, who starred in the family's 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles, raised eyebrows when she was caught taking photographs at Victoria's funeral on June 10. "People deal with grief differently. Mrs. Siegel is grieving as we all are," the family told Us in a statement at the time. "There is no authoritative manual that tells us how to grieve."
During her chat with Inside Edition, she further explained her reasoning. "It’s my last moment to remember my daughter and that day," she said. "I know there’s no book [on] what you should and shouldn’t do at a funeral. I just love my baby so much and I just want every last minute to remember her by."
