A fitting tribute. A rainbow appeared over Prince’s Paisley Park studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota, just hours after his death on Thursday, April 21.
Mourners gathered outside of his compound to remember the late legendary singer, placing flowers and memorabilia along the fence while marveling at the beautiful moment in the sky.
As previously reported, the Grammy and Oscar winner was found dead in an elevator inside the studio earlier in the day. He was 57.
The “Purple Rain” crooner last performed on April 14 in Atlanta. Just hours after what has became his final performance, Prince’s private jet made an emergency landing in Illinois. His rep told Us Weekly at the time that the influential artist was battling flu-like symptoms.
His cause of death has yet to be released. According to the Midwest Medical Examiners Office in Ramsey, Minnesota, his autopsy will be conducted tomorrow, Friday, April 22.
“We need an ambulance right now. … We have someone who is unconscious,” an unidentified male told dispatcher Emily Colestock during a 911 call, according to the transcript obtained by Us. The caller later told the dispatcher that it was Prince who was in need of aid.
A rainbow also appeared over a Palm Springs golf course frequented by the late Ronald Reagan hours after his wife, Nancy Reagan, died on March 6.
