Forget the boys, bring on the men! Veteran Housewife Ramona Singer opened up to Us Weekly at the season 7 premiere of the Real Housewives of New York City on Tuesday, April 7, about life as a recently single lady following her split from Mario Singer.
The Bravo veteran, 58, brought a date named Michael to the premiere party, which was sponsored by Ciroc and held at Singer's Manhattan restaurant AOA Bar & Grill. There, Singer told Us that she has an army of handsome men at her disposal these days.
"I keep company of men now," Singer told Us, adding that her date was "one of the men I keep company [with]. His name is Michael, and he’s wonderful."
Michael is apparently just one of many prospects since Singer's split last summer. "I’m dating. I’m enjoying life. Embracing life," the Housewife mused to Us. "Life is meant to be enjoyed. You have your two choices in life. When something bad happens you can lose your job, lose your husband, lose whatever you may lose. You can sit there and wail away about it, or say, 'Hey, pick yourself up.'"
For Ramona, the choice was clear. "I’m going to take this negative thing and just turn myself around," she told Us. (Ramona and her husband of 22 years split last August amidst rumors that he was continuing his affair with his mistress Kasey Dexter.) "I believe positive things create positive results," she added. "That’s my motto in life."
This bright disposition has certainly spilled over to Singer's personal life. "I'm more fun!" she told Us. "I don’t know. My sister came and she said, 'God, you’re so much more fun… less guarded.' I just let my wall down. I’m more exposed."
Her relationships with her fellow Housewives, including returning original RHONY star Bethenny Frankel, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, and others, have also improved significantly.
"They love it," Ramona told Us of her newfound singlehood. "They [no longer] call me Ra-meany, but Ramona," she joked. "I’m more mellow… More relaxed."
