Those of you who really know me, knows that my heart is breaking at the news of Teena Marie's death. I'm truly devastated and there are no words to express this great loss. She was more than music to me and I was blessed to have had the opportunity to see her in concert a few times, talked to her on radio and met her... in person and tell her what she has meant to me. She was the inspiration to my courage to write poetry like she wrote songs. She reigned supreme in a music genre that she wasn't supposed to, and showed people that soulful sounds has no "color". It is my priviledge to make sure that her music lives on. God Bless you, Sister and may your spirit live on forever
