Rebel-ling against the norm! Not only does Rebel Wilson look stunning on the April cover of Elle Australia, but the Pitch Perfect 2 star, 29, also had no problem getting candid about her Hollywood lifestyle.
Though she’s known for her comedic timing and her career-starting role in 2011’s Bridesmaids, the Aussie actress admitted she isn’t always cracking jokes.
“Most people who know me know I’m not switched on all the time,” she told the mag. “I don’t like to be like that in real life, because it’s draining. If I’m how I am as [Pitch Perfect’s] Fat Amy all f—king day… I can be sometimes, but I’d be a psycho if I was like that 24/7. You gotta chill out and just be normal for a bit, I say.”
As for those who do spend their days around Wilson, she has high praise for her famous pals, but knows there’s a limit to their friendship.
“I have a lot of celebrity friends,” she said. “But they’re all Hollywood friends. You can’t call them if you fall over and break your leg, but if you’re having a BBQ and wanna chitchat, you hang out with them, or you go to their house.”
The highly anticipated musical sequel, Pitch Perfect 2, hits theaters in May, but any delay to the filming process was not due to Wilson.
“I hate people who do a lot of takes. I like to nail it and then go home. I like to crush it in, like, two takes,” she said, referencing her character’s catchphrase “crushed it.”
Though she’s new to fashion photo shoots, she had a good pseudo mentor in the modeling department.
“I never thought I’d be the type of girl who’d be doing, like, fashion shoots,” she admitted. “I used to watch some of the reality shows about models and then, weirdly, now I try to incorporate into my fashion shoots the skills I learnt from watching those shows. It’s like thanks Tyra [Banks], ‘cause you’ve given me like all the cool tips. Like how to smile with your eyes.”
