The Beyhive is not impressed. Following Beyoncé’s surprise release of her brand-new single, “Formation,” on Saturday, February 6, fans of the singer eagerly awaited Red Lobster’s reaction to her racy shout-out.
“When he f–k me good, I take his ass to Red Lobster,” the 34-year-old singer raps at one point in her beat-driven track.
The restaurant chain replied to Beyoncé’s mention several hours later, with a tame tweet.
“‘Cheddar Bey Biscuits’ has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? #Formation @Beyonce,” the Twitter handle wrote, along with a photo of the delectable side dish.
Fans were quick to comment on Red Lobster’s tardy response with a few quips of their own.

.@redlobster @Beyonce Social media strategy: if this tweet was done during the #Formation firestorm, it’d get an okay. Hrs later? Nah.

On Saturday, Beyoncé — who is set to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show opposite Chris Martin and Coldplay — dropped her music video for “Formation,” much to the delight of celebs and longtime listeners alike. (The stunning video even features a cameo from Beyoncé’s young daughter, Blue Ivy.)
In reaction to the “Flawless” singer’s raunchy line about Red Lobster, John Legend took to Twitter to post a photo of President Barack Obama with his hand covering his mouth, with the caption, “When you realize your dad took your mom to red lobster every week.”
Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, approved of the message.
“This is a good tweet,” she replied.
